Nollywood actress Judy Austin has attracted fresh attention following her appearance at the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja amid ongoing defamation cases involving veteran actress Rita Edochie and her former husband, Emmanuel Obasi.
Austin appeared at the court on Tuesday, September 29, with footage of her at the premises subsequently circulating on social media and generating reactions among fans and followers of the long-running controversy.
The actress has filed separate defamation suits against Rita Edochie and Obasi over statements she alleges damaged her reputation. The claims across the cases involve more than ₦2 billion in damages and associated costs, alongside requests for retractions and other reliefs.
The legal disputes come amid years of public attention surrounding Austin’s relationship with Nollywood actor Yul Edochie and disagreements involving members of his family and her former husband.
