Fulham manager Alvaro Arbeloa has been charged by the Football Association (FA) over remarks he made following his side’s 1-1 Premier League draw against Manchester United.
Arbeloa criticised the officiating referee after the September 20 encounter, suggesting that decisions during the match consistently favoured Manchester United.
He also questioned whether the officials had been influenced by controversial events surrounding United’s previous fixture against Manchester City.
The FA, in a statement issued on Wednesday, said the Spanish coach was being investigated for comments that allegedly amounted to improper conduct by implying bias and questioning the integrity of a match official.
Arbeloa has been given until Thursday, October 1, to respond to the charge. The FA will consider his response before determining the next steps in the matter..
