Popular Nigerian content creator and livestreamer Carter Efe has reportedly lost access to his TikTok account, which had accumulated about 5.6 million followers.
According to a report by Peoples Gazette, the account was banned over what the platform described as serious violations of its Community Guidelines. However, TikTok has not publicly disclosed the specific content or incident that triggered the action.
The development has generated widespread speculation on social media. Some X users claimed that the ban followed a livestream involving Carter Efe and Brazilian streamer Tota, during which conversations relating to scams allegedly arose.
Other social-media users suggested that the account may have been affected by mass reporting, alleging that fellow TikTok streamer Peller had encouraged his followers to report it.
NewsMaximum has not independently verified either explanation, and there is currently no confirmed evidence that the alleged livestream or mass-reporting campaign directly caused TikTok’s decision.
Despite losing access to the account, Carter Efe has reportedly continued communicating with his followers through his other social-media channels.
It remains unclear whether the ban is temporary or permanent and whether the streamer has begun an appeal to recover the account.
NewsMaximum will provide further updates as more information becomes available.
