Colombian global superstar Shakira has released a one‑minute teaser of “Dai Dai”, the official anthem for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and excitement is building across Nigeria as the track features Afrobeats heavyweight Burna Boy. The snippet, shared on Shakira’s social media pages, showcases energetic choreography filmed at Rio de Janeiro’s iconic Maracanã Stadium, giving fans a first taste of the rhythm and global fusion expected from the full release on May 14.

For Nigeria, Burna Boy’s involvement marks a major cultural milestone. The Grammy‑winning artist continues to push Afrobeats onto the world’s biggest stages, and his presence on the official World Cup anthem places Nigerian music at the centre of the most‑watched sporting event on the planet. Burna Boy, known for hits like Last Last and City Boys, is expected to bring his signature Afro‑fusion sound to the track, making “Dai Dai” one of the most anticipated World Cup songs in recent years.

This will be Shakira’s second official World Cup anthem after the global success of “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” in 2010. She also performed at the 2006 and 2014 World Cup closing ceremonies. The 2026 tournament, jointly hosted by Canada, the United States, and Mexico, will kick off on June 11 in Mexico City, with “Dai Dai” set to headline the global soundtrack of the competition.
