Social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) and businessman
Blord were seen shaking hands outside the courtroom in Abuja, a moment that
sparked speculation about whether the two had finally resolved their
differences. Despite the gesture, lawyers from both sides have not indicated
any intention to discontinue the case. Adding more drama to the unfolding saga,
VDM was heard saying that “it is about Sowore now,” prompting fresh questions
about whether he plans to shift his focus from Blord to activist Omoyele Sowore,
whom he previously accused of escalating the dispute.

Inside the courtroom, proceedings took an unexpected turn
when the presiding judge recused herself, announcing that the case file would
be forwarded to the chief judge for reassignment. Legal observers described the
move as unusual, noting that intense public commentary may have influenced the
decision. One of the lawyers remarked that judges typically recuse themselves
when a case appears “tainted” or compromised by external factors.

The case, which began after VDM accused Blord of
impersonation and misuse of his identity, has continued to attract significant
public attention — especially after Sowore intervened earlier to secure Blord’s
bail. The matter has now been adjourned to May 19 for mention.
