Arise News Drops Anthony Kila Following Allegations Over Academic Credentials

Arise News has announced that political analyst Anthony Kila will no longer appear on its television network following allegations concerning the authenticity of his academic credentials.

The announcement was contained in a disclaimer published by the news channel on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, following an investigative report by Premium Times that raised questions about Kila’s academic qualifications.

In the disclaimer, Arise News said it contacted Kila on October 3, 2026, to give him an opportunity to respond to the allegations. According to the organisation, he requested additional time to respond but had yet to provide an answer 10 days later.

Explaining its decision to discontinue his appearances, the channel stated that the situation had made his continued contributions to its programmes untenable.

The disclaimer reads:

“Arise News wishes to advise that Anthony Kila, who has appeared several times on this network as a freelance political analyst and has been the subject of a damning investigative report by Premium Times Newspapers, will no longer appear on the Arise News Channel.

Following claims that Anthony Kila falsified his entire academic credentials, we contacted Mr Kila on 03 October, 2026, with the allegations. He asked for more time to respond to the claims. He has not responded 10 days after. Instead, the allegations have gotten worse. In the circumstances, we find that his contributions to The Arise News Channel is no longer tenable.

Arise News was unaware of these allegations at the time Anthony Kila appeared on our platform and, as we take matters of credibility and integrity extremely seriously, we have noted the findings of the Premium Times investigation and Mr Kila will not be appearing on our networks at any time now or in the future – effective immediately.

— The Editorial Board”

The decision means Kila, who has featured on Arise News on several occasions as a freelance political analyst, will no longer contribute to the channel’s programmes.

Arise News emphasised that it was unaware of the allegations when Kila previously appeared on its platform, adding that credibility and integrity remain important considerations in its editorial decisions.

The allegations against Kila have attracted attention following the Premium Times investigation. However, the claims concerning his academic credentials should be distinguished from independently established facts, and any response from Kila would be relevant to a fuller account of the controversy.
